M&M’S caramel peanut tartlets

With a creamy caramel filling, buttery chocolate crusts and crunchy M&M’S, these dreamy tarts are the perfect bite-size dessert for sharing.

Recipe Ingredients:

Chocolate Pastry Crust:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup confectioners’ (icing) sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 2 tbsp ice water
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup M&M’S Peanut, chopped

Caramel Filling:

  • 2/3 cup heavy or whipping (35%) cream
  • 3 tbsp dulce de leche
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips, melted
  • 1/4 cup M&M’S Peanut, chopped
Directions:

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 50 minutes (+15 minutes standing time)

  1. Chocolate Pastry Crust: In food processor, pulse together flour, confectioners’ sugar, and cocoa powder. Add butter; pulse until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add ice water and vinegar; pulse until incorporated and dough just comes together. Pulse in chopped M&M’S Peanut.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F and position rack in center oven.
  3. Divide dough into 12 equal portions and roll each into a ball. Flatten to 4-inch round and press into bottom of lightly greased muffin tin. Freeze for 15 minutes. Using fork, prick pastry all over.
  4. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes or until pastry is crisp and set. Let cool completely on wire rack.
  5. Caramel Filling: In medium bowl, using electric mixer, whip cream until stiff peaks start to form. Beat in dulce de leche, vanilla and salt.
  6. Divide filling among pastry crusts. Drizzle with melted chocolate and garnish with M&M’S Peanut.

Tip: Store tartlets in airtight container in refrigerator for up to 1 week. Bring to room temperature before serving.
